NYC Unleashed: My top 10 Recos to Discover the City like Never Before

1. Best new restaurants

Principe

Nestled in a space that once housed a photography gallery, it’s Fashionable week everyday at Principe. As to the cuisine, it is Italian-inspired and focuses on seafood. Love this place !

St Theo’s

I loved everything at St Theo’s ! It is located in the West Village, the food was exceptional (probably the best cooked pasta I have ever eaten), the service was impeccable, AND they have an outdoor space ! Careful, however: the inside it very noisy, so if you’re looking for something calm, that is definitely not the place to be

Holiday Bar

I won’t be able to describe it better, so let me copy paste from their website here: A NYC restaurant with 80s accents, Alex Katz art, and a killer playlist, located in the West Village. Says it all, no ?

2. My favorite coffee shops

Ants coffee

This coffee shop is located in Williamsburg, has Oatly, and an outdoor space. Do I need to say more ?

PPL

Also located in Williamsburg, this is a very cute coffee shop that also has Oatly and lots of plants for the days you’re missing nature. No space to sit inside, but if you’re lucky you’ll be able to grab one of the benches outside.

La Cabra

Loved this coffee shopping Soho ! Very cool vibes and amazing pastries !

3. My favorite fitness spots

Modo

My historic hot yoga place has 2 locations: one in Williamsburg (my favourite) and one in the West Village. For classes with good vibes, I recommend Michael or Kevin. If you want something very hard, go for Katherine’s 90 min core flow but be mindful: this class is very challenging and I only recommend it to advanced yogis

Bode NYC

This place is under the radar, maybe because it isn’t brand new. Do not go for yoga (they mostly Bikram), but if you are in for a very challenging workout, I recommend Hot HIIt with Eric or Hot Sculpt with Aura. Be mindful: it is extremely hot in the room, and once in there you can’t leave the room : make sure you are comfortable working out in the heat.

Skyting Yoga

For years, my NY Squad has been telling me about this place, and I understand why: FINALLY something different ! There is a really particular way to move at Skyting, and as a concept creator I particularly appreciate the originality ! Studio is super pretty so run and enjoy moving differently !

Yoga Space

They have one location in Greenpoint and one in Williamsburg. I don’t know about their yoga classes (because I only take hot yoga), but the HIIT Pilates with Jessica was amazing ! She is tough but funny (ring a bell maybe?), and you’ll surely feel the burn while having fun ! The space itself (Greenpoint location) is beautiful so that helps with the challenge !
